At
Phillips/May,
accidents are considered preventable through careful
planning of construction activities, continued training and a cooperative
team approach in all areas of operations. Safety is the responsibility of
all Phillips/May employees and our subcontractor’s employees. This is
monitored by the
Phillips/May
Corporate Safety
Manager, Robert Baldivia, as his single focus. All
work is performed in the safest manner possible consistent with appropriate
construction practices.
Construction is a unique
industry in terms of safety challenges. A thorough Job Hazard Analysis is
mandatory for all activities and is updated as the activity progresses.
Job costs for doing business are dramatically affected by safety incidents
and take away from job momentum. Every effort is made to develop positive
preventive measures that contribute to improved production so that time
lost
due to incidents is
kept at a minimum.
Exemplifying
Phillips/May’s
commitment to safety, the firm
received the "Outstanding Contractor of the Quarter" Award from
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
