Uptown Theater Historical Renovation

Work of this project included restoration of the facade, blade sign, marquee, and entry of the Uptown Theatre in Grand Prairie. Store fronts were restored and others removed and new storefronts were constructed using new plaster, masonry and canopies. The existing marquee and blade sign were cleaned and restored to reflect the original appearance. The neon was restored and new digital chaser controls were added. The soffit of the marquee was repaired and restored using the original historic porcelain enamel steel panels. Interior work included combining three adjacent buildings to create the Performing Arts Center for live entertainment. The interior of the existing buildings were removed to create the new stage with plaster proscenium arch, state of the art theatrical lighting and rigging, raked seating, rest rooms, technical booth, orchestra pit, concessions area, Studio Theater and dressing rooms.
