DART LEVEL BOARDING OUTLYING STATIONS

DART LEVEL BOARDING OUTLYING STATIONS

  • CLIENT: DART
  • MARKET: TRANSPORTATION
  • SERVICES: RENOVATION
  • CONTRACT VALUE: $4.3 MILLION

This level boarding project consisted of raising the existing passenger platforms to enable DART to use new Passenger C-Cars to accommodate all passengers, especially those with mobility challenges. The work included demolition, removal, and reinstallation of pavers, a concrete pad, and associated drainage/street work for 29 DART stations encompassing the entire existing system of the Red and Blue Lines. This project required close coordination with businesses adjacent to many of the existing DART Stations, as well as residents in residential areas. Coordination of the construction was accomplished by a Phillips/May community liaison representative. These projects also required close attention to the traffic control plans developed for these construction zones to ensure the safety of vehicular traffic, pedestrians, and the construction staff.
